LMU Men, Women Finish Fifth At Carson-Newman Challenge

MORRISTOWN, TN -- The LMU Cross Country Teams both finished in fifth place at the Carson-Newman Challenge held at Panther Creek State Park Saturday morning.
In the men's race, Derrick Lindsay placed sixth, with a time of 28:45. Reid Ailey was 17th with his 30:28 performance. Shane Curtsinger's time of 30:57 put him in 20th place. Kelly Winston (36:36) and Aaron Morris (37:52) finished back-to-back in 45th and 46th place.
LMU was led by a trio of runners who came in 15th, 16th and 17th. Amber Stoerp led the way with her 23:25 time, followed by Ashley Thomas' 23:36 performance and Casey Poore with a time of 23:40. Kelsy Clasby came in at 37th with 26:28, followed by Caroline Chadwell and her 26:40 time.
The teams will run again on Oct. 2 in the Greater Louisville Classic.
