LMU Cross Country Teams Set to Host Railsplitter Invitational
October 22, 2010
HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University cross country coach Jeremy Donahue and his men's and women's cross country teams will host the first ever LMU Railsplitter Invitational Saturday morning at Wilderness Road State Park in Ewing, Virginia.
The event will feature men's and women's teams from Lincoln Memorial University, Carson-Newman College, Union College, Lindsey Wilson College and Johnson Bible College and will get underway at 9:45 and 10:30 Saturday morning.
Saturday's races will be free to the public and will take place near the park's recreation of Martin's Station fort, a structure that was established around 1776. Dainel Boone and possibly Abraham Lincoln's parents are said to have both visted the fort while traveling toward the Cumberland Gap and into Kentucky.
The men's 5K race will begin at 9:45 while the women's 3K run will start at 10:30.
