LMU Cross Country Teams Finish 6th & 7th At SAC Championship

WINGATE, NC - The Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's cross country teams ran Saturday in the 2010 South Atlantic Conference Championship held in Wingate, North Carolina with the Railsplitters finishing 6th and the Lady Railsplitters coming in 7th among the 10 team field of participants.
Both LMU teams were led by All-South Atlantic Conference performers Derrick Lindsay (Talbott, TN) and Fiona Reinecke (Knoxville, TN). Lindsay, a junior, turned in another stellar performance, placing 11th among the field of 84 participants by finishing the 8K race in 26:23 while Reinecke, also a junior finished the 5K women's race in 12th position as the top LMU women's participant in a time of 20:36.
The LMU cross country teams now have roughly three weeks to prepare for the NCAA regional which will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 20th. For all but a select few NCAA teams from the region, that will be the final event of the 2010 fall season. LMU must finish as one of those teams in order to qualify for the NCAA National Championship to be held later this month.
