LMU Women Finish Second, Men Fourth At Centre College Invitational

DANVILLE, KY -- The Lincoln Memorial cross country teams both competed in the Centre College Invitational Saturday morning, with the Lady Railsplitters finishing in second place and the men coming in third.
The host team won both men's and women's events.
The Lady Railsplitters were led by Sofia Lopez Mimendi, who came in fifth with a time of 20:04.21. Amber Stoerp (20:59.25) placed 10th, Fiona Reinecke (22:25.49) was 18th, Jamie Collins (22:32.93) came in at 27th, followed by Aura Penalosa (23:39.59) who was 28th. Caroline Chadwell was 39th with her time of 25:09.76.
The men were led by Derrick Lindsay's fourth-place time of 27:52.65. Shane Curtsinger (29:43.97) came in at 22nd, followed by Brandon Ward (29:59.82) at 25th and Bradley Maldonado (30:46.36) in 30th place. Aaron Morris finished at 52nd with a time of 35:45.00.
Next up for the LMU harriers will be the Carson-Newman XC Challenge on Sept. 17 at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown, Tennessee.
