LMU Men, Women Finish Third At Carson-Newman XC Challenge

MORRISTOWN, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial cross country teams both competed in the Carson-Newman XC Challenge Saturday morning at Panther Creek State Park, with both teams finishing in third place.
Tiffin University won both men's and women's events.
The Railsplitters were led by Derrick Lindsay's eighth-place time of 27:25.46. Shane Curtsinger (29:22.06) came in at 25th, followed by Brandon Ward (29:44.67) at 29th and Bradley Maldonado (30:05.49) in 32nd place. Isaac Cummins finished at 38th with a time of 31:18.63.
The Lady Railsplitters were led by Sofia Lopez Mimendi, who came in 10th with a time of 20:42.21. Amber Stoerp (21:19.11) placed 13th, Fiona Reinecke (22:12.26) was 21st, Jamie Collins (23:26.85) came in at 28th, followed by Caroline Chadwell (24:43.92) at 43rd and Kristi Blaisdell (28:54,78) at 65th.
Next up for the LMU harriers will be the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 1.
