Railsplitters To Hold Little League Night Next Weekend

HARROGATE, TN - Lincoln Memorial University Head Baseball Coach Jeff Sziksai recently announced that LMU's "little league night" will be held next Friday evening prior to LMU's South Atlantic Conference double-header with Newberry College.

Before LMU takes on Newberry at 7:00 p.m., Railsplitter players and coaches will work with little league kids from the tri-state area on various fundamentals of the game of baseball that include, hitting, pitching, fielding and base-running prior to Tuesday's first pitch. 

"This is one of the highlights of our season," said Sziksai.  "Our players and coaches really enjoy it and it’s a great opportunity for our program to give back to kids of the community,” said LMU coach Jeff Sziksai. 

Friday’s event is open little leaguers throughout the tri-state area and is free of charge, as will be Friday's game with Newberry.  Children that want to attend the free event should bring their bat and glove and be at the Lamar Hennon Field before 5:00 p.m.  For additional information, interested parties should contact the LMU baseball office at (423) 869-6345 or (423) 869-6344.
