LMU Cross Country Teams Do Well At Berea Invitational

BEREA, KY - On Saturday morning, the Lincoln Memorial University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Berea, Kentucky and participated in the annual Berea Invitational that is hosted each year by Berea College.
Although official final results weren't available at press time, two Lady Railsplitter runners finished among the top-10 in the 5K event including sophomore Preseason-All South Atlantic Conference runner Sophia Lopez-Mimendi (Mexico City, Mexico). Lopez-Mimendi placed third overall while teammate Fiona Reinecke (Knoxville, TN) came in ninth to help the LMU women take fourth place among the 13 teams participating in the race.
While the official results of where the Railsplitters weren't available either at press time, All-South Atlantic Conference runner Derrick Lindsay (Talbott, TN) took 5th place in the men's 8K race and was the only LMU runner to place inside the top-10.
The LMU cross country teams now have two weeks to prepare for their next race which will be in Louisville, Kentucky when they run in the Louisville Classic on October 3.
