LMU Women's Cross Country Takes Trailblazer Invitational

GRAY, TN - Lincoln Memorial University sophmore cross country runners Sofia Lopez-Mimendi (Mexico City, Mexico) and Fiona Reinecke (Knoxville, TN) led the LMU women's cross country team to it's first victory of the season Saturday morning in the Trailblazer Invitational held in Gray, Tennessee.
Lopez-Mimendi won her first collegiate race by finishing the 5K event in 20:51.61 to take top honors. Reinecke finished closely behind in third place in a time of 22:03.49 to help the Lady Railsplitters edge Asbury College and Tusculum College for the championship of the race.
Lady Railsplitter freshman Ashley Robbins (Middlesboro, Kentucky also finished inside the top-10 by placing seventh in 22:49.58, while teammates Amber Stoerp (Murfreesboro, TN) and Casey Poore (Jonesborough, TN) finished in eleventh and twelvth place repectively in times of 23:13.91 and 23:28.97.
Lady Railsplitter newcomers Alyssa Maloney (Sneedville, TN) and Kelsey Clasby (Big Stone Gap, VA) placed fourteenth and seventeenth in the race with times of 24:33.82 and 25:31.44.
The Lady Railsplitters now have the week to prepare for next weekend's South Atlantic Conference Championships to be held in Hickory, North Carolina.
