Lady Railsplitters Lose Tough Battle To GCSU
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA -- A late run by the host team enable Georgia College and State to pull out the 75-70 win over the Lincoln Memorial University Lady Railsplitters Tuesday evening in the Craig Marsee Real Estate Classic.
It was a close game throughout, with six ties and eleven lead changes.
GCSU (6-3) went out to a quick 14-7 lead before the Lady Railsplitters put together a run of their own to tie the game at 22-22. The lead switched back and forth before GCSU took the 34-32 lead into halftime.
A 7-0 run by GCSU took their lead to 43-34 with 16:57 to go. LMU fought back to take a 50-47 lead with 11:21 to go. The lead see-sawed several times before GCSU took the lead for good with 1:05 to go and never looked back in the 75-70 win.
LMU (2-7) was led by Carolyn Mills (Nashville, TN) with 21 points. Dayshalee Salaman (Carolina, Puerto Rico) added in 16 points and Amberly O'Dell (Argos, IN) scored 11 points. Blandine Kikwiki Mamuku (Kinshasa, DR Congo) led the Lady Railsplitters with 10 rebounds.
GCSU was led by Chimere Jordan with 28 points. Shandrea Moore scored 12 and Antoinette Reames had a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
LMU will face UNC-Pembroke in the final round of the CMR Classic Wednesday at 1 p.m.
