Lady Railsplitters Look To Get Back On The Winning Track In First SAC Game of 2010
WINGATE, NC - The Lincoln Memorial University women's basketball team has hopes of picking up its first South Atlantic Conference win of the season and more importantly getting back on the winning track when the Lady Railsplitters play their first league game of 2010 Saturday afternoon in Wingate, North Carolina.
The LMU women will enter their first of two regular season meetings with the Bulldogs of Wingate University with a 2-8 record and trying to snap a six-game losing skid that dates back to their December 2, 2009 road-meeting with Urbana Univeristy.
While the LMU women have been playing a much improved brand of basketball since the loss to Urbana, the Lady Railsplitters have lost their last four outings by no more than five points in each game.
The Bulldogs of Wingate University have been idle since their December 19th win over Francis Marion University and are presently in a four-way tie for the SAC's no. 4 position in women's basketball with an 0-1 conference record. The WU women will bring their 6-4 record to the floor when they match-up against the Lady Railsplitters on Saturday and will be sporting the league's current Player of the Week in Sophomore guard Kurie Washington.
Tip-off for Saturday's game between the Lady Railsplitters and the Bulldogs of Wingate University is set for 2:00 p.m. in Wingate, North Carolina and will be broadcast on the Lincoln Memorial University Basketball Network beginning with pregame coverage at 1:40 p.m.
