HARROGATE, Tenn. -- As the end of the year approaches, the Lincoln Memorial University athletics department is counting down the top 20 moments of 2015. At No. 11, we reflect back on the first win in the history of the women's lacrosse program.
Â
The inaugural season of Lady Railsplitter lacrosse began with seven consecutive losses, but Lincoln Memorial ended that streak and picked up the program's first-ever victory on March 24 by defeating the University of Pikeville 8-5 at the LMU Lacrosse Complex.
Â
The Lady Railsplitters led from start to finish in that contest, as both
Bre'Asia James (Vero Beach, Fla.) and
Autumn Beddington (Newburgh, Ind.) scored goals 34 seconds into the match to put Lincoln Memorial ahead of the Bears for good.
Â
James finished with a season-high five goals, eight shots on goal and eight draw controls. Beddington added two goals and seven shots, while
Kylah Endicott (Pineville, Ky.) tallied her first career goal in the Blue and Gray.
Â
In the win, the Lady Railsplitters set program single-match highs for goals, shots, shots on goal and caused turnovers.
Â
The top 20 countdown of 2015 continues on Sunday with moment No. 10.Â
