Freshman outside hitter Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) led the Lady Railsplitters to a 2-1 mark this past week, averaging 14.6 kills and 15 digs per match over that stretch. Holland opened the week by tallying 15 kills, 16 digs, three solo blocks and four block assists in a five-set win over Mars Hill. On Friday evening, the Lady Railsplitters dropped a five-setter to Lenoir-Rhyne despite an 18 kill, seven dig effort from Holland. The Columbia, S.C. native hit .256 in that match with four block assists. Holland capped the weekend with 11 kills and a career-high 22 digs in a four-set win over Brevard.
Holland leads the Lady Railsplitters and ranks third in the South Atlantic Conference with 294 kills this season, while her 3.00 kills per set is the sixth-highest mark among SAC student-athletes. Holland is honing in on the top ten in school history for kills in a single season as Cindy Smith sits in the 10th place spot with 392 terminations.
