Senior middle infielder Ryan Burlison led the Lincoln Memorial University baseball team to its second straight South Atlantic Conference series sweep, as the Railsplitters whipped up on the Carson-Newman Eagles in Jefferson City, Tenn. this past weekend.

The Romeoville, Ill. native went 7-for-14 at the plate over that three-game stretch, driving in six run with a pair of doubles and a grand slam. Burlison lifted in his batting average by 30 points in the series, improving his already gaudy .367 clip to .397.

Burlison went 3-for-6 with an RBI in the opening game of that series on Saturday, helping the Railsplitters capture a 7-6 win in 13 innings. In the series finale on Sunday, Burlison drove in five runs, scored three times, went 3-for-5 at the plate and connected on a grand slam in a 16-5 thrashing of the Eagles.

Burlison leads the Railsplitters with three home runs, while he is tied for the team-lead with 18 RBI. He has piled up a monster .635 slugging percentage and a .424 on-base mark.

Lincoln Memorial has won nine straight games - the longest winning streak for the program since 2009 -with seven straight wins in South Atlantic Conference play.Â
