Sophomore long distance runner Whitney Elliott helped lead the Lady Railsplitters to a seventh-place finish in their inaugural trip to the South Atlantic Conference Track and Field Championship, earning three top-four placements and accounting for 17 of the team's 33 total points.
 
Elliott's showing was headlined by her appearance in the 1500 meter race, where she won the preliminary with a time of 4:50.91 before finishing in third place in the finals with a mark of 4:48.44. 
 
The LaFollette, Tenn. native added another third-place run in the 5000 meter event, logging a time of 18:45.18. Elliott nabbed a fourth-place showing in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:38.83, lagging just 20 seconds behind Wingate's Valerie Griesche for the top spot.
