Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) has been selected as the Holiday Tire Railsplitter of the Week for September 13, it was announced on Tuesday. Cash is the second straight member of the LMU women's volleyball team to win the award, joining her teammate
Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.), who received the first Railsplitter of the Week award of the 2016-17 seasons last week.

Cash guided the Lady Railsplitters (4-1, 1-0 SAC) to a five-set win over Tusculum in the South Atlantic Conference and Mary Mars Gymnasium opener last Wednesday, racking up a season-high 55 assists to go along with three kills, 14 digs and three block assists. The 55 assists were just two shy of matching Cash's career-high mark of 57, which she accumulated against King in 2014.

In the process, Cash reached a couple of major career milestones, notching both her 3,000th career assist and her 1,000th career dig. To put that into perspective, the New Carlisle, Ohio native is just the fifth player in program history with 3,000 career assists and the 13th with 1,000 career digs. She is one of only two players to join the 3,000 assist/1,000 dig club along with Katie Holly and Lauren Kiwacka.

Through five appearances, Cash is ranked fourth in the SAC in assists per set (9.61) and sixth in total assists (173). She is also in the top-20 in digs per set with 3.17.
