HARROGATE, Tenn. – Senior outside hitter
Liz Brock (Lima, Ohio) helped lead the Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team to two more wins this past week and has been tabbed as the Holiday Tire Railsplitter of the Week recipient for the week of September 27, it was announced on Tuesday. Brock is the third different member of the volleyball team to receive the Railsplitter of the Week award this season.
Brock – a 5-10 outside hitter from Lima, Ohio – registered two huge double-doubles to power the Lady Railsplitters (9-2, 6-1 SAC) to a 2-1 mark last week.
In Lincoln Memorial's four-set win over Mars Hill on Tuesday, Brock tallied a season-high 15 kills on a .265 attack percentage to go along with a career-high 21 digs. The 15 kills were two short of matching a career-high mark and the most by Brock since a 17-kill performance in early October of 2015.
On Saturday at Coker, Brock led the Lady Railsplitters with 14 kills on a .333 attack percentage in a straight-sets sweep over the Cobras. She also produced 17 digs to notch her second double-double of the week and fourth of the 2016 campaign.
Brock is averaging 2.19 kills and 3.00 digs per set for the Lady Railsplitters this season. The senior is hitting .240 in SAC play, which is the 15th-best mark in the league. She is also ranked 15th in the league with 3.31 digs per set against SAC opponents.
Brock and the Lady Railsplitters will be back in action on Friday, September 30, when they welcome the Catawba Indians to Mary Mars Gymnasium for a SAC match beginning at 7 p.m.
