Junior runner Ryan Mecca (Niagara Falls, Ontario) paced the Railsplitters to a fourth-place finish at the 42-team Greater Louisville Classic, held at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park on Saturday, by crossing the finish line eighth out of 350 total competitors. With an 8k time of 26:03.64, Mecca picked up his fourth consecutive top 10 placement of the season while leading the Railsplitters' efforts for the fourth straight time as well.
Behind Mecca's performance, the Railsplitters collected their best ever finish in Louisville, Ky. since they began attending the event in 2010. Prior to Saturday's fourth-place gallop, Lincoln Memorial had never finished better than 10th at the Greater Louisville Classic.
