Senior striker Fernanda Miaci (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) recorded the program's first hat trick since the 2009 season, leading the Lady Railsplitters to a wild 4-3 double overtime victory against rival Carson-Newman last Thursday. Miaci scored in the 49th and 67th minutes to prop the Lady Railsplitters to a 2-1 advantage, but Carson-Newman regained the lead with back-to-back goals just three seconds apart. Fellow senior Nicole McKinney (Ooltewah, Tenn.) sent the match into overtime with a goal in the 71st minute, and Miaci concluded her trifecta with the game-winning score in the 109th minute.

The Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil native is tied with Michelle Hunter (Tecumseh, Ontario) for the team-lead in goals with six. She leads the Lady Railsplitters with 15 points, 40 shots and 21 shots on goal.
