HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Railsplitter tennis team closed out a busy weekend of tennis with a 6-3 loss to Union College Sunday afternoon in the Indoor Tennis Facility.

Union took the first two doubles matches, both by 9-7 scores. Xavier Marti and Iker Tomas Moure won at #3 doubles over Srdjan Trosic/Alex Kostka 8-4.

LMU won at #2 and #3 singles, while the matches at #5 and #6 needed three sets to determine the winner. At #2, Marti defeated Srdan Pejic 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 while at #3 Constantin Ernstberger cruised to the 6-0, 6-2 win over Trosic. At #1 Lois Castellon defeated LMU's Joshua Peress 6-4, 6-3 while at #4 LMU's Moritz Hoerner was trailing 3-1 to Ewan McKinnie before retiring due to an injury. At #5 Tomas Moure fell to UC's Borna Bartolovic 6-3. 3-6. 6-2 and at #6 Jake Tuchmann fell to Alex Kostka 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.

LMU will now be off until Feb. 20, when they travel to Young Harris. Their next home match will be on Feb. 24 against Martin Methodist.
