FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- The LMU men's tennis team fell to host Emmanuel 5-2 Friday afternoon in their lone dual match of the fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule.
In doubles, LMU picked up the point with the 6-0 win by
Iker Moure and
Jake Tuchmann at the number one flight and the 6-3 win by
Sebastian Colla and
Fabian Sjokvist at number two.
In singles action, the lone win for the Railsplitters came at the number three spot where Tuchmann defeated Wilfredo Lara 6-2, 7-6. The matches at number two and number six went to three sets each, with Colla falling to Juan Carlos Romero 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 at the two spot and
Nathan Cooper falling in his collegiate debut 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 to Javier Crispo at the sixth flight.
LMU will open up the main portion of the campaign on Feb. 1 when they host long-time local rival the University of the Cumberlands at the LMU Tennis Complex.
