FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- The LMU women's tennis picked up their first win of the season Friday afternoon as they defeated Emmanuel 6-1.

It is the lone dual match of the fall portion of the 2019-20 schedule for the Lady Railsplitters.

In doubles, LMU picked up the point as Kiersten Waugh and Amanda Dahlstrom won over Lauren Castillon and Julia Ramos 6-1 in the third flight and Kristin Vogel and Julia Valls defeated Victoria Silva and Selina Donecker 6-4 in the second spot. Johanna Delisse and Samantha Hogan were leading Maria Raich Solans and Zyanya Rogel Valencia 5-4 in the number one flight before play was halted by LMU winning the point.

In singles action, Vogel picked up the 6-4, 6-3 win over Donecker in the sixth spot, followed by Dahlstrom's 6-3, 6-3 win over Marta Rozados at the third flight.

Solans then picked up Emmanuel's lone point of the day as she bested Delisse 6-4, 7-6 in the first spot.

Julia Loos then gave LMU the match victory as she outlasted Valencia in a three set match at the second flight 6-3, 6-7, 6-2. With the win she tied Denise Cole () for 11^th in the career singles wins rankings with 43 career victories. Valls picked up her 30^th career win as she defeated Silva 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 at the fourth spot while Waugh won over Ramos 6-7, 6-2, 6-5 in the sixth flight.

LMU will open up the main portion of the campaign on Feb. 1 when they host long-time local rival the University of the Cumberlands at the LMU Tennis Complex.
