HARROGATE, TN – Fifth-ranked Wingate improved to 10-2 on the season and 5-0 in South Atlantic Conference play as they cruised past the homestanding Railsplitters 7-0 Saturday afternoon.
LMU (8-6, 2-4 SAC) played the Bulldogs close in the third doubles spot and the top two singles flights, but in each instance Wingate prevailed.
In doubles,
Moritz Hoerner and
Jake Tuchmann fell to Roy Stepanov and Enrico Giacomini 7-6.
The top singles spot saw
David Segarra take 25th-ranked Daniel Belsito to three sets before falling 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. At the second flight, Hoerner fell to Matthew Jones 6-3.
LMU will take Spring Break off before returning to action on March 31 when they host Queens at the LMU Tennis Complex.
