HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University women's tennis team eased past Lindsay Wilson College by the score of 5-2 Saturday afternoon inside the LMU Indoor Tennis Facility.
The Lady Railsplitters, now 4-1 on the year, bounced back from their first loss of the season last week by controlling the lower spots in singles and doubles against the visiting Lady Blue Raiders (0-1). It was the season opener for Lindsey Wilson, who is ranked No. 11 in the first NAIA poll of the season.
Senior
Johanna Delisse captured her No. 1 singles match in a super tiebreak, 10-5, to get LMU started and then sophomore
Claudia Rodriguez, junior Krissy Vogel, and sophomore
Amanda Dahlstrom each followed suit with straight-set wins.
The Lady Railsplitters dominated the second and third doubles matches to earn the first point of the day. Senior
Kiersten Waugh and Dahlstrom earned a 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot while Vogel and sophomore
Samantha Hogan got a 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
LMU now has spring match wins over the No. 11, No. 13 and No. 17 teams in this week's NAIA rankings.
