GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team held with Limestone for the first 45 minutes of the match, but the nationally-ranked Saints proved to be too much as they pulled away in the second half to take the game 4-1.
Limestone was on the attack the entire game, and it started early in the first half as the Saints put up six shots in the half. They would score the lone goal of the half in the 30
th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
The Saints continued their offensive attack throughout the second half as they scored two goals within the first six minutes of the half to increase their lead to 3-0. They would add their fourth goal 17 minutes later to take a commanding lead.
Sophomore
Will Arrowood got LMU on the board late in the second half, as he scored his second goal of the year to cut the Saints lead to three. That would be all the Railsplitters would get as Limestone held on for the final minutes to clinch second place in the SAC tournament.
Pedro Da Silva picked up an assist on Arrowood's goal, while
Lars Popp and
Peter Majer put shots on goal for LMU, but could not cut into the Saints lead.
Goalkeeper

The game marks the end of the season for the Railsplitters, as they finish the year at 2-13-2.
