HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial men's wrestling team got decisions from Porter Finstad and Gabe Croom but fell 40-6, while the women's team had Ashley Morris pin her opponent before falling 33-5 on Saturday afternoon at the inaugural home wrestling match for the programs in Mary Mars Gym.

Finstad withstood a last-second rally from Mount Olive's Darius McKenzie to take a 12-6 decision in the dual's opening match in the 125-pound weight class.

Croom capped off the dual with a 5-3 decision in the 285-pound class, defeating the Trojans' Seth Carlton. After a scoreless opening period, Croom started the second on bottom, quickly escaped and subsequently scored a takedown on his opponent for a quick three points.

Both Kade Millsaps (5-3, 141-pound) and Logan Simpson (8-7, 157-pound) kept the score close in their matches, but ultimately fell in decisions to Taylor Robinson and Michael Vernagallo, respectively.

In women's matches, Morris pinned Jillian Timberlake in 35 seconds in the 116-pound weight class to pick up five points for the Railsplitters.

Stephanie Castro lost a 6-2 decision to Mount Olive's Skyelar Smith in the 143-pound weight class in the only other scoring match of the dual. Mount Olive won by forfeit in six weight classes, while there was no match in the 109-pound and 136-pound classes.

Next on the schedule is a dual match at Newberry on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for the men's team.
