HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial men's wrestling team won its first dual match in program history with a 39-15 win over Patrick & Henry CC on Friday night at Mary Mars Gym.
 
The Railsplitters racked up two pins, a decision and four forfeits for the victory over the Patriots. In the earlier match at the tri-dual, Lincoln Memorial fell 33-15 to South Atlantic Conference Carolinas foe Limestone.

In the match with Patrick & Henry, Porter Finstad topped Hunter Fulp for a 5-4 decision in the 125-pound weight class, while Jack Hill (174-pound class) and Gabe Croom (285-pound class) pinned their opponents in the first period in 0:27 and 1:42, respectively, to make for a quick dual.
 
Finstad pinned Limestone's Nathnael Bullard in the earlier match against the Saints to get the hosts out to an early lead. Finstad collected the fall near the end of the second period (4:47) and improved to 4-1 in duals on the season with the two wins. Andrew Overbay won the 133-pound class by forfeit to get Lincoln Memorial to a 12-0 advantage.
 
Later in the 165-pound class, Nicholas Krauss escaped and scored a takedown late in the third period over Anthony Goelzer to take a 12-10 decision and give the Railsplitters a 15-12 lead. Limestone won the final 21 points to clinch the match.
 
Lincoln Memorial is scheduled to travel to Indianapolis for the Midwest Classic on Dec. 17 and 18 to wrap up its 2022 calendar.
