HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial University men's tennis team swept a pair of matches from UVA-Wise and Midway University here Sunday while celebrating Senior Day.
The 'Splitters won both matches 7-0 in running their record to 12-7 overall, and 5-2 in SAC play.
Senior Railsplitters Fabian Sjökvist and
Sebastian Colla each won twice in singles and paired up for two more wins in doubles to lead LMU on the day.
Thom Hermans also nabbed a pair of singles and doubles wins, teaming with
Nic Goslar. 7 other players joined in the scoring as LMU took all 18 matches contested.
"It was nice to send Fabian and Sebastian out with a full day of successful matches," said head coach Mark Walters. "Those guys have given so much to the program, as well as having adapted to my system over the past 3 years, that taking a day to say 'thank you' is a bit overdue. They're both great students, teammates, and they have provided excellent leadership to a young team this year."
