Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's and women's soccer teams are both on the road this weekend, each facing a tough task. Catawba's men's soccer team is currently ranked 22nd in the nation, and the women's team is ranked 2nd in the nation in division II. Catawba's men's team is 6-1-1 on the season while the women's team remains unblemished at a perfect 9-0-0.
Lincoln Memorial's men's team was ranked as high as 22nd earlier this season. A win on the road against a ranked Catawba would be vital in helping them return into the top-25. The Railsplitters are coming off a decisive 3-0 victory over Mars Hill at home, and are looking to parlay that momentum into this weekend's important match up.
The Lady Railsplitters are coming off of a 1-1 tie with Mars Hill, and are looking to knock off one of the top ranked teams in the nation. A win over Catawba for the Lady Railsplitters would do wonders for a national ranking argument. Sitting at 7-2-2 on the season, Lincoln Memorial's women's team would have an impressive resume with a win over the third ranked team in the country.
Historically, the men's team has dominated the series with Catawba, holding a 14-4 advantage all time; including a 1-0 victory last year at home. For the Lady Railsplitters, Catawba has managed to maintain a slight edge in the all-time series, leading 11 games to six, including winning the last two matches by a combined score of 0-8.
Kickoff for the men's game is slated for 1 PM, while the women's game is set for 3:30.
