Harrogate, TN - The South Atlantic Conference has released the men's basketball preseason polls along with the preseason all-conference teams, as voted on by members of the conference.
Lincoln Memorial was tabbed the top team in the conference with 143 points. The Railsplitters also received 11 first place votes to secure the top spot following a 16-2 conference record in 2022 and a 30-5 overall record.
Catawba came in as the second ranked team in the poll, tallying 134 points with two first place votes.
Newberry took the third spot in the rankings with 107 points, followed by
Wingate who was ranked fourth with 105 points.
Tusculum came in at No.5 with 98 points to round out the top five teams in the conference.
The Railsplitters also had five players named Preseason All-Conference.
Me'Kell Burries and
Chase Rankin were named to the First Team.
Martez Brown and
Jordan Walters were named to the Second Team.
Matthew Sells was named to the Third Team.
