Harrogate, TN- Lincoln Memorial University men's wrestling fell to Coker on Wednesday in their home opening dual for the 2023-24 season.
The match opened with the 125 pound weight class with a decision in Coker's favor to take the early 0-3 lead. A fall in the 133 pound weight class would extend the lead to 0-9. Lincoln Memorial would put points on the board with
Kade Millsaps posting a deciding victory in the 141 pound weight class.
Austin Vincent would follow in the 149 pound class, earning a major decision to make the score 7-9.
Coker would take the 157 pound weight class by technical fall to extend the lead, but
Nicholas Krauss would take control in his 165 pound class match, leaving the score 10-14. The two teams would split the 174 and 184 pound weight classes, both by major decisions (including one by LMU's
Michael Nunn), making the score 14-18. Lincoln Memorial would be forced to forfeit the 197 pound class, making the score 14-24. Nonetheless,
Gabe Croom would take the 285 pound weight class by decision, leaving the final team score at 17-24.Â
