Harrogate, TN - It was a quick night for the Lincoln Memorial men's wrestling team on Wednesday night, playing host to the Newberry Wolves. With the women's match canceled and only seven individual bouts, each individual effort carried a little more weight for each team. Starting with the 125 class, Hernand Pinto lost to Hunter McCullough by tech fall to give Newberry and early 5-0 lead. The 133 class went to decision, seeing the Wolves' Caiden Pelc defeat Porter Finstad in a 5-4 decision, extending the Newberry lead to 8-0 after two bouts. In the 141 class, Elijah "Kade" Millsaps fell behind early to Cole McCullough, but was able to complete the comeback to win the bout, seeing the Railsplitters cut the Wolves' lead instantly to 8-6 following a victory by fall over McCullough. The 149 class saw Caelan Alderman defeat Graham Rocha by tech fall, extending the Newberry lead back to 13-6. In the 157 class, the Wolves' Nick Humphrys defeated James Thaxton by decision 7-3 to further extend the Newberry lead to 16-6. The 165 class was the fastest bout of the night, seeing Lincoln Memorial's Julian Smith make quick work of Newberry's DaSaun Taylor, winning by fall in only 18 seconds. In the final bout of the evening, Newberry's Des Marshall defeated Randy Bucsok by decision to extend the Wolves' lead to 19-12. However, with no one to wrestle the 184, 197, and 285 classes, the Railsplitters were forced to forfeit those bouts, giving the Wolves a 37-12 victory in Harrogate.

Both men and women's wrestling will be back on the mat on Sunday, Nov. 10 in Franklin Springs, GA for a match up with Emmanuel.
