Borkey and Webb named All-Region

Harrogate, TN - Two Lincoln Memorial University outdoor track and field student-athletes were awarded All-Southeast Region honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Both newcomers to the program, Luis Borkey (800m) and Sterling Webb (heptathlon) capped off their freshman campaigns receiving their second All-Region honor, both earning the accolade during the indoor season. The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.

Borkey, a Wiesbaden, Germany native, finished his debut season as the number two all-time 800 meter runner in program history, trailing only Railsplitter alum Roberto Fajardo. The All-Southeast Region honoree was also the silver medalist at this year's South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships in the same event. Luis was the lone member of the program to walk away with a top three finish to end the season.

Sterling Webb is now a 3-time recipient of the honor, as she closes her first season in blue and gray as the school record holder in eight different events. Awarded All-Region in the heptathlon, the Mount Juliet, Tennessee native she took fourth place at the outdoor championships, also hitting the provisional mark for the outdoor national championships.
