Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

LMU defeats Nationally Ranked UIndy at Home

Harrogate, TN - LMU men's soccer defeats nationally ranked University of Indianapolis on Sunday 3-0. This win increases their series record to 3-1, and this win is the first time that LMU has beat the Greyhounds in series history. 

University of Indianapolis was ranked 15th in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, and defeating this team gives LMU a big boost of confidence going forward. 

The scoring started in the 28th minute when Daniel Cruzgive a through ball through UIndy's defensive line, allowing Guilherme Galvão to have a clear shot to chip the ball over the goalkeeper to give LMU the lead 1-0. The Greyhounds were unable to produce a goal in the first half.

In the second half, LMU scored again in the 66th minute when an own goal occurred from a throw in that was thrown into the box by the Railsplitters. In the 79th minute, Botond Skulka received the ball at the corner of the 18 yard box, and is able to shoot the ball over the goalkeeper on the right side of the goal to give LMU a massive lead 3-0.

The Railsplitters had an amazing day defensively, as UIndy only had two shots total for the whole game, one of those being on goal. 

With the twin, their record improves to 2-0. 

Their next game will be at home against Lee University at LMU Lacrosse Complex. Kickoff is set for 5:30 pm.
