Palm Harbor, FL – The Lincoln Memorial University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Copperhead Championship, hosted by West Florida at the famed Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course. Facing one of the strongest Division II fields of the season, the Railsplitters finished tied for sixth place with a three-round total of 874 (+22), matching Barry University on the team leaderboard.
Host West Florida captured the team title with an 841 (–11), followed by Grand Valley State in second at 852 (E) and Lee University in third at 854 (+2). Wingate finished fourth at 861 (+9), while Nova Southeastern rounded out the top five at 870 (+18).
Ryan Gavin led the Railsplitters with an impressive T-11 finish, firing rounds of 72–72–71 for a 215 (+2) total. Morgan Cain and Harry Dickins each tied for 26th at 218 (+5), posting consistent rounds of 70–70–78 and 71–73–74, respectively. Dylan Hussey and Oliver Ulmo both tied for 71st at 229 (+16), while the Railsplitters competed as one of only two South Atlantic Conference teams in the elite 17-team field.
The Copperhead Championship featured 10 of the nation's top 15 programs, including No. 1 West Florida, No. 2 North Georgia, No. 3 Florida Southern, and No. 11 Lincoln Memorial.
LMU will return to action October 20–21 at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invitational, hosted by Golfweek at Fripp Island Resort in South Carolina.
