Franklin Springs, GA – The Lincoln Memorial University Men's Wrestling team faced their second competition of the season, squaring off in the Georgia Open hosted by Emmanuel University.  

Porter Finstad earned the first wins of his senior season in the 141-pound division, earning a bye in the first round before earning a major decision win over an opponent from Lander 11-0.  

Finstad's run continued, as he would make the semifinals to face an opponent from Emmanuel, who he defeated in three minutes via the fall, earning 6 points to make the championship bout for the 141-pound division.  

James Thaxton would also earn his first wins of the season, getting two major decision wins over opponents from Montevallo and Andrew College out of the 149-pound division.  

Brady Comerford picked up from his success last weekend, as the freshman would earn an opening-round win via fall in three minutes, before earning a 14-10 decision win over his opponent from Andrew to make the quarterfinals of the 285-pound weight class.  

The Railsplitters will open Conference Carolinas competition on Thursday, as Lincoln Memorial will face off against Mount Olive and Ferrum College in a meet hosted by Ferrum.
