Bristol, TN – The Men's Wrestling team for Lincoln Memorial faced their fifth match of the season, as the Railsplitters took on King University in Bristol in a conference clash, with the Tornado coming out on top 52-6
Lincoln Memorial earned some points early in the match, as Porter Finstad netted a fall in the 141-pound weight class while James Thaxton earned an escape in the 149-pound division.
In the 157-pound division, Jose Gutierrez would net the Railsplitters first win of the night. Gutierrez would net an escape to start the second period after selecting to begin on bottom before pinning his competition to get the 4-0 fall win, the second of his young career as Gutierrez improves his overall record to 2-0.
Justice McKague found his way out of trouble multiple times in the 174-pound match, as five times he earned himself an escape point during the course of the bout.
The Railsplitters are back in action on Sunday, as LMU will face Lander University, Reinhardt University, and Newberry College in the Carolina Clash Duals.
