Howie-in-the-Hills, FL- Lincoln Memorial is heading to the NCAA DII Men's Golf Championship. The team advances to the final site after finishing 6th in the South/Southeast Regional with a 291-286-291 (+4) team score. North Georgia won the regional, shooting -28 to also advance to Nationals. Other teams heading to the final tournament from the regional include Wingate, West Florida, Columbus State, Lee, and Florida Southern.
Morgan Cain posted his second straight round of 68 (-4) on Saturday, going four-under on the front nine and tallying six birdies total on the day. His 73-68-68 (-7) performance in the tournament gives him a fourth-place finish individually. Finishing 19th was Max Reynolds, whose even final round today would keep him at one under overall (70-73-72). George Durkan would finish 55th for the Splitters, posting 76-71-75 (+3) on the tournament, nearly holing out on the par three eighth hole in his final round. Jamie Dean went 73-74-76 (+4) in the regional, carding 11 straight pars in his final round and ending up tied for 63rd. Ian Taggart finished tied for 85th, going 75-77-76 (+12).
This National Championship appearance will be the first since 2019 for LMU, the first under head coach Brad Robinson.
The National Championship Tournament will be played in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, starting on Monday, May 19th and going through Friday, May 23rd, with more information to come soon.
