Bristol, TN – The Lincoln Memorial University Men's Wrestling team traveled to face Montevallo in a neutral site conference contest, eventually falling to the Falcons 58-0.  

Porter Finstad battled through a fierce draw in the 141-pound weight class, taking his opponent into the third period by keeping him on the mat throughout the entire second period and the start of the third before earning a late escape point in a hard-fought loss. 

In the 149-division, James Thaxton faced a tough battle in the first period, fighting his way to two escape points in the first two minutes of wrestling. Julian Smith would also earn an escape early in the 157-bout, earning individual points.  

The Railsplitters will return to competition on Sunday, competing in the Newberry Open hosted by Newberry College to face competition from seven other conference opponents.
