Harrogate, TN – In a Saturday night thriller, the Lincoln Memorial Men's Tennis team completed their second-consecutive perfect weekend, defeating Young Harris at home 5-2, improving to 4-0 on the season.  

The Railsplitters pulled out one win in doubles play, as the third pairing of Ethan Hirons and Radu Florea set down their Young Harris counterparts 6-3 

In singles play, after dropping the first set, Alexandru Rares Giurea came out swinging in the first singles draw, winning his next two sets handily. Giurea picked up a 6-1 win in the second set before ending the competition with a 6-2 win in the third and final set. 

Hirons kept his dominant start going, staying undefeated thanks to a quick win in the third singles pair. Hirons didn't allow his opponent a single point in the first set, taking it 6-0 before a dominating 6-2 win for the straight sets sweep. 

Floria backed his doubles partner by also earning a major win in the singles draw, coming out of the fourth pairing for a two-set win. Florea battled early in his first match before pulling away with a 6-3 win, and slammed the door with a 6-1 win to lock up key points for Lincoln Memorial. 

Victor Bourguignon kept the party rolling in the fifth draw, defeating his opponent 6-0 in the first set before a 6-3 victory capped off the third singles point of the day for the Railsplitters.  

Kai Miyatake closed out the win for the Railsplitters, as after dropping the first set in the sixth singles seed, Miyatake battled his opponent in the second set, trading points until eventually breaking away with a late 6-4 win. The third set would go deep into the tiebreaker rounds, with Miyatake eventually finishing the win with a 1-0 third set victory, stealing the tiebreaker round 10-6. 

The Railsplitters are back in action next weekend, welcoming Belmont Abbey to Harrogate for a 4:00 p.m. match as the Splitters look to start 5-0.
