Emory, VA – The Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters Women's Wrestling team secured a second-consecutive victory on Thursday night, taking down conference rival Emory & Henry 20-14. The win marks the first time the Lady Railsplitters have won back-to-back individual duals in program history.  

After earning free points thanks to Madison Northern, Alyssa Roberts netted the Railsplitters first on-mat win of the night, battling in the 131-pound weight class. After Roberts fell behind in the first period, Roberts secured an early takedown and would shore up the win with two late takedowns, securing the fall win in 5:08 of wrestling to put the Railsplitters up 10-9.  

Calista Gibson kept the momentum rolling for the Railsplitters in the next round, as in her first bout since winning Conference Carolina's Women's Wrestler of the Week, Gibson secured a lightning fast win, turning a four-point nearfall into a two-point pin and the eventual Fall win just 30 seconds into action.  

LMU netted their third win in a row thanks to Shonticia Taft, who after falling behind in period one, fought back in the second period for an eventual pin and Fall win in 6:00 of action. Taft's fall gave the Railsplitters a 20-4 win, letting LMU ride out with their fourth win of the year, second in conference competition. With their second win, LMU now sits at third in the conference standings heading into the final conference bout.  

Lincoln Memorial will travel to Columbia, Kentucky on Saturday for the Blue Raider Open, hosted by Lindsey Wilson with competition starting at 10:00 a.m.
