LENOIR CITY, TN - Lincoln Memorial University men's golf turned in another strong week on its home course, finishing second at the Tennessee River Rumble (Mar. 23–24) at WindRiver Golf Club. The No. 20-ranked Railsplitters posted a three-round total of 867 (+3) with rounds of 287-285-295 to secure the runner-up finish in a loaded field that featured multiple teams ranked inside the national top 50.
No. 5 Wingate captured the team title at 863 (–1) after closing with the day's low round (279) to pull away down the stretch. No. 9 Catawba finished third at 868 (+4), followed by No. 34 USC Beaufort (872, +8) and No. 1 Grand Valley State (877, +13). LMU stayed in the hunt throughout the week, using a second-round 285 to climb the leaderboard before battling through a tough final day to lock up second.
Freshman Harry Dickins continued his torrid spring run and proved he's not slowing down after earning SAC Golfer of the Week honors last week. Dickins finished second individually at 208 (–8) with rounds of 69-67-72, adding another top finish to his growing résumé. He piled up 15 birdies (second-most in the field) and led the tournament on the par 4s, reinforcing the form that helped him claim medalist honors at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate just a few weeks ago.
Behind Dickins, LMU's lineup delivered steady production across the board. Morgan Cain tied for eighth at 218 (+2) with rounds of 71-71-76, while Edward Mason finished tied for 13th at 219 (+3) after closing with a final-round 70. Ryan Gavin added a top-30 finish, tying for 26th at 222 (+6), and Dylan Hussey rounded out the scoring five at 240 (+24). As a team, the Railsplitters were aggressive all week, ranking third in the field with 43 birdies.
Lincoln Memorial also fielded a "B" team that gained valuable reps against the deep tournament field. LMU (B) finished tied for 17th at 925 (+61) (310-304-311), highlighted by Oliver Ulmo's tie for 51st at 227 (+11). Wyatt Cochran followed close behind in a tie for 55th at 228 (+12), while Cameron Grabeel (T-78, 234), Harry McGuire (T-83, 236), and Minh Nguyen (97th, 254) completed the five. The B team made its mark in the scoring categories as well, tying for the tournament lead with two eagles.
The Railsplitters return to action March 30–31 at the Argonaut Intercollegiate in Pensacola, Fla., hosted at Pensacola Country Club.
