Sumter, S.C. - The Lincoln Memorial women's tennis team lost in the quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference tournament on Thursday, as the sixth-seeded Railsplitters fell to three-seed Wingate 4-0.
Despite dropping the doubles point to the Bulldogs, the Railsplitters held a lead in the second doubles match, as the pairing of Mar Garcia Bucosa and Alexandra Ortiz trading points early with the Bulldogs pair before taking a late 5-4 advantage when play shifted to the singles court.
The Railsplitters took two sets on the singles courts. Mia Rodriguez would open the third singles match with a comeback first set victory, as after Wingate opened the match with a 3-1 lead, Rodriguez would draw the set within one score.
