Men's Tennis Takes 1-6 Loss to No. 11 Florida Southern

Lakeland, FL – The Lincoln Memorial Men's Tennis team lost a ranked match on the road to Florida Southern College earlier, dropping to the Moccasins 6-1. The Loss moves the Railsplitters to 12-7 this year. 

Despite getting swept in doubles play, the Railsplitter put up a response in singles competition, as in the fifth draw, Victor Bourguignon took a win from his Moccasin opponent. The first set was all Bourguignon, as the Junior jumped out to a 4-0 lead before pulling away with a 6-2 win. After his opponent took the second set, Bourguignon put away his opponent with a 6-3 third set, handing a point to Lincoln Memorial.  

In the fourth singles match, Radu Florea the first set from his opponent with a 6-4 victory. After a back-and-forth start, Florea jumped out to a 5-2 lead before his opponent draw it closer towards the end. After the match was within one point, Florea secured a 6-4 victory in the opening set.  

The Splitters face their third ranked foe in as many days tomorrow, heading up to Columbus, Georgia to take on fifth-ranked Columbus State at 2:00 p.m.
