Robert Genno 2018-19

Robert Genno

Robert Genno is entering his third season as the Lincoln Memorial University assistant men's golf coach after serving as the graduate assistant for the 2015-16 campaign. While assisting in recruiting, his primary responsibilities are statistical analysis and on-course management for the men's team.

During the 2015-16 season, Genno’s first on the Railsplitters’ coaching staff, the team compiled a 105-23 record while capturing their third South Atlantic Conference championship. That served as the program’s first conference title in four years.

That success continued into the 2016-17 season, as LMU accounted for a program-record five tournament victories during the regular season, notched a then program-best 13th-place finish at the South/Southeast Regional and was ranked as high as No. 15 in the national rankings.

The 2017-18 campaign was one for the record books, as the Railsplitters made their third consecutive NCAA tournament appearance and, for the first time in program history, advanced to the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship with a program-record fifth-place finish at the South/Southeast Regional. LMU qualified in eighth place after 54 holes of stroke play competition to become just the second SAC program to advance to the match-play portion of the national championship.

Prior to joining the coaching staff, Genno was a four-year letterwinner for the LMU men’s golf team from 2011-15. He played in 11 career events and accounted for a 75.7 career scoring average over that span.

Genno arrived at LMU from Ontario, Canada. He graduated from LMU in 2015 with bachelor's degree in marketing. Immediately following his graduation, he began his master's in business administration and graduated with a concentration in sports management in May 2017.
