Pepe Batalla enters his second season as the graduate assistant coach for the men’s and women’s tennis teams.
A native of Barcelona, Spain, Batalla joined the Lincoln Memorial University coaching staff after a three-year playing career with the Railsplitters. From 2015-17, Batalla accounted for a 43-16 overall singles record, ranking eighth in program history in singles victories. His .729 winning percentage is the sixth-highest mark ever by a Railsplitter. On top of that, he went 42-17 in doubles play, good for a .712 winning percentage.
As a senior in 2017, Batalla established the program’s single-season record for singles victories by posting a remarkable 21-3 mark.
