Played in several tournaments in Brazil, including futures and one challenger.... Was ranked in the top three in his state (Sergipe) and was ranked 110th of Brazil's players.

"Gabriel red-shirted last year and while he didn't get any playing time he did get a year's worth of practice in and has come back this season ready to hit the court. He has a tough all-court game and I look for him to break into the lineup at #4/5 singles and #2/3 doubles. He will be another weapon in our arsenal for SAC opponents to deal with."
