August Harp

August Harp enters his fourth season on the Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) men’s soccer coaching staff. After spending three seasons as a player at LMU, Harp joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant in Fall 2023. He was promoted to full-time assistant coach in 2024.

In the summer of 2026, Harp served as an assistant coach with Appalachian FC in Boone, North Carolina, during the club’s inaugural USL League Two season. Appalachian FC became the only new member club to qualify for the USL2 national playoffs, advancing to the National Round of 16.

In 2025, Harp was part of the LMU coaching staff that led the Railsplitters to their first South Atlantic Conference Tournament victory since 2007. LMU also earned its second NCAA Tournament appearance in four years, finishing the season with a 9-7-3 record. During the 2025 season, Harp also helped launch the inaugural season of LMU men’s soccer’s reserve team.

In 2024, his first full season as a full-time assistant coach, Harp helped guide LMU to an 9-4-3 record. The season ended in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals, with the team narrowly missing out on an NCAA Tournament berth.

During his first season on the LMU coaching staff in 2023, the Railsplitters earned their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007, receiving an at-large bid following a loss in the SAC Tournament Semifinals. The team finished the season with a 10-5-3 record.

Before joining the coaching staff, Harp spent three seasons as a player at LMU, making 28 appearances. In 2022, he was part of the team that was runners-up in the SAC Tournament.

Harp also brings experience playing at the club level. He played in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup with former NPSL club Appalachian FC in Boone, North Carolina, and competed for NPSL side Club Atletico STL in St. Louis, Missouri, during the summer of 2023.
