Ezra Pinzur comes to Harrogate to join the LMU staff after building a strong résumé with stops at various levels and locations across the southeast.
Prior to joining the Railsplitters' staff, Pinzur spent the previous season in Cookeville, Tenn as an assistant coach for Tennessee Tech University. While there, Pinzur helped sign the number five ranked high school player in Arkansas for the 2026 class. He also helped develop two future professional players while working with the Golden Eagles.
Before his time in Cookeville, Pinzur spent the 2024-25 season at Central Arkansas, where he helped guide the Bears to their first ASUN Tournament appearance and victory in four years. He contributed to the signing of two of Arkansas’ top-five prospects in the class of 2024, Layne Taylor and Ty Robinson. Taylor went on to earn ASUN All-Freshman Team honors in his first season, and Robinson garnered all ASUN honors the following season. Pinzur also helped develop future pro Elias Cato.
From 2021-24, Pinzur served as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH), where the Chargers enjoyed an incredibly successful stretch. During his three years at UAH, the Chargers posted three consecutive 20-win seasons, advanced to three NCAA Division II Tournaments, and made a run to the Sweet 16 in 2023 en route to a top-20 final national ranking. UAH also claimed the Gulf South Conference Tournament championship in 2022 and the league’s regular season title in 2023, followed by runner-up finishes in both standings in 2024.
In his time at Huntsville, Pinzur worked with and developed several standout student-athletes, including GSC Player of the Year and current Brooklyn Net Chaney Johnson, GSC Tournament MVP CJ Williamson, and all-conference performers Luke Burnett, Jack Kostel, Tommy Murr, and Daniel Saylor. He also played a key role in recruiting All-GSC honorees Murr and Hunter Vick. Additionally, he had the opportunity to help develop and guide many of the previously mentioned players to play at the professional level, including Williamson, Johnson, Murr, and Saylor.
Pinzur began his coaching career at Tennessee Tech as a graduate assistant from 2019-21. While there he had the chance to assist in the development of eight future professional players including one NBA player. A native of Hartsville, Tenn., Ezra played two seasons of collegiate basketball at Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Tennessee Tech.
