Sophomore midfielder Nick Spielman (Melbourne, Fla.) was named to the South Atlantic Conference Championship All-Tournament team after leading the Railsplitters to the semifinal round of the league tournament with a heroic effort in last Tuesday's quarterfinal match against Tusculum.
 
With three-seeded Lincoln Memorial trailing six-seeded Tusculum 1-0 late in the second half, Spielman recovered a deflection in the box and tallied the game-tying score with 1.1 seconds remaining in regulation. The Railsplitters then went on to advance past the Pioneers and into the semifinal round with a 5-3 penalty kick shootout victory.
 
Spielman played all 110 minutes and registered two shots in last Saturday's 0-0 draw against 23rd-nationally ranked Wingate, who unfortunately eliminated the Railsplitters in a PK shootout by a final of 3-1.
 
Spielman - voted to the SAC All-Tournament team alongside teammate Danilo da Silva - completed his sophomore season with three goals and one assists in 16 starts.
