Shea Coker (Knoxville, Tenn.) powered the 19th-ranked Lady Railsplitters to three wins in the last five days and has been tabbed as the Holiday Tire Railsplitter of the Week for December 6, it was announced on Tuesday.
Coker helped Lincoln Memorial (9-0, 4-0 SAC) extend the best start in the history of the women's basketball program by averaging 17 points per game on a 57.9 percent clip from the field and a red-hot 5-for-9 mark from three-point range in wins over Lenoir-Rhyne, Coker and Brevard. She also contributed four rebounds, five assists and three steals in the Lady Railsplitters' last three games.
Coker kicked off her week by scoring 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting in a 73-51 win over Lenoir-Rhyne at Tex Turner Arena on Wednesday night. She followed that up by pouring in 20 points in just 25 minutes of action in an 83-62 win over Coker on Saturday afternoon. On Monday night, Coker capped off her week by scoring 18 points on a 2-of-3 mark from deep in 21 minutes of work in the Lady Railsplitters' overwhelming 94-65 win over Brevard.
For the season, Coker is averaging 13.9 points per game on 50 percent shooting and a 46.7 percent mark from three-point range. The junior from Powell High School is also contributing 2.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Lincoln Memorial, who has won four straight games by double figures and is off to a perfect 9-0 start, will not play again until December 14, when the Lady Railsplitters travel to Wingate, N.C. to face the Wingate Bulldogs in SAC action at 6 p.m.
